Media and Techniques
I participate in many “living history” events demonstrating 18th & 19th Century metalworking techniques. My knowledge of traditional blacksmithing is self taught, I have fabricated tools and utensils utilizing these techniques as well as several pieces of my art works. I have also created other metal goods on commission using a combination of traditional blacksmithing and modern techniques. My main medium that I work in is metal, whether that is steel, copper, brass, iron, sterling sliver, gold or an old piece of wrought iron. I have used many different techniques in my exploration of manipulating metal, from reposé work to arc welding, puddleing, twisting and scrolling.
Other Professional Qualifications
I have designed and set up numerous art shows and exhibitions, both as part of my employment through CSU-Pueblo and as part of my involvement in the CSU Art Club. I have also designed and hung private galleries spaces.
